Avon Lake Library Reading Program Hits 1,001

Check out upcoming events at the library

The Avon Lake Library's summer reading program has signed up 1,001 children so far, the library reported.

The program has 300 teens and adults, too, the library added.

Check out the library's schedule for next week:

Monday, July 8 | Tike, Stroll and Roll
Strollers, wagons and tricycles welcome to a walk through the Kopf Family Reservation. 9:30 to 11 a.m.; meet in the library parking lot.

Wednesday, July 10 | Jr. Tree House Club — Rainbow in a Jar
Design layered landscapes using chalk and salt. Kids age 6 and 7 welcome. 1 to 1:45 p.m.; register in DiscoveryWorks or by phone at (440) 933-7848.

Brick by Brick Block Party | Friday, July 12
11 a.m. Lego-themed games including Chima and Ninjago for kids aged 5 to 8. Registration is required in the children's section of the library beginning July 8.
