Candidate Statement: I am seeking election to City Council because there is still work to be done from my first term as the Ward 3 City Councilman.

I am concerned that the city's focus has been with development of land north of I-90 when the issues facing the citizens are south of I-90. There are many areas that are prone to flooding and roads that are covered in asphalt patch that need to be repaired.

I am concerned with the spending the city has undertaken in recent years, (The Y, The Stadium and now the interchange) that we are putting ourselves at risk of not having the ability to allocate taxpayer money to some of the issues I have mentioned. I am also concerned that our past spending habits may impact the taxpayers.

My goal if elected is to ensure we are spending taxpayer dollars in a practical manner and to ensure that we are being fiscally responsible so that Avon can remain affordable for all taxpayers, including my retired mother who lives in Avenbury Lakes.

I have a proven record and was the person who pushed to have recycling, leaf pickup and a commercial property code in place while I was Ward 3 Councilman. If elected, I will continue to show the citizens practical, independent thinking that takes into account the best interests of the taxpayers of Avon.
