Census Figures Show Avon Pretty Average

Census figures released Thursday show Avon's close to the Ohio average in some categories.

Avon's median age is 38.4 years, compared to 38.8 for Ohio. 

The average Avon household is a little larger, at 2.76 people per household. The average household in Ohio has 2.44 people per household.

One area Avon diverged from the rest of the state is in housing. Avon has 8,007 housing units, 7,584 (94.7 percent) are occupied. Owner-occupied homes are 84.2 percent of that, 15.8 percent are rented. In Ohio, 67.6 percent of occupied homes are owner-occupied, 32.4 percent are rented.
