Center Road to Close at Railroad Tracks Starting August 8
Road expected to be closed for five days
State Route 83 -- Center Road in Avon and Avon Belden Road in Avon Lake -- will be closed Monday, August 8, at the railroad tracks for approximately five days for rail crossing improvements.
The designated detour will be Abbe Road.
Center Road is a major artery for traffic flowing between Avon and Avon Lake.

ODOT will be installing advanced warning signs for drivers. Local drivers can use Jaycox or Lear roads to Chester Road in Avon since Bradley and Krebs Roads .
The road closing is one of several Avon Lake drivers have encountered this summer. Jaycox and Lear roads have both been closed at the railroad crossing at different times in July, including that took drivers—and the city—by surprise.
