Chester Road Relocation Open House is March 26

Exhibits on hand to review, project team representatives can answer questions.

With plans moving forward on the Chester Road relocation plans, the city of Avon is giving residents a chance to review plans and ask about the city’s next big project.

The city will be conducting an open house public involvement meeting to provide information about the proposed Chester Road Relocation Project on Tuesday, March 26 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at Avon City Hall, 36080 Chester Rd.

No formal presentation will be made; however, exhibits and project team representatives from the city of Avon and the project consultant, Bramhall Engineering and Surveying will be on hand to discuss the project and answer questions.

In early February, Avon's city council formally announced its support for theunanimously approving a  “resolution of support” for the project which looks to correct a misaligned intersection being blamed for a high number of accidents.

Valerie Kilmer, of Bramhall Engineering forwarded a preliminary conceptual play while her company completes detailed engineering and environmental studies.

The project is expected to begin by later summer or the fall or 2013 with the right-of-way acquisition phase and construction beginning in July or August of 2014 with a completion date of May 2015. .   

The current estimated costs for this project remain at $395,000 for the engineering and environmental phases, approximately $1.032 million for the Right of Way and Utilities phases and $2.926 million for the Construction phase.  This results in a
