City Council Gets Back to Work
2012 starts with organizational meeting, work session
Avon's City Council holds its first meetings of 2012 at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at .
Council members will be sworn in at 7 p.m.
An organizational meeting will be first. A council president will be chosen from at-large councilmen Craig Witherspoon, Daniel Zegarac and Clinton Pelfrey. A president pro tem, for when the president is absent, will also be chosen from them.

Chairmen and members of committees -- including economic development, parks and recreation, service and legal -- will also be selected. Council members will be appointed to area boards and commissions including planning commission and French Creek Development Association.

A work session will follow. Selecting members for the charter review commission is one of the items to be discussed.
