A full week in the Avon area

  1. Because of Monday's Fourth of July holiday, this week's work session of will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at .
  2. A special meeting of the will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall. A public hearing will be held on two auto dealerships wanting to build in Avon. Check Avon Patch on Tuesday for a story on the planned dealerships.
  3. Work off some of that Fourth of July potato salad and participate in the  on Saturday in Elyria. There is a 5K run and a one-mile family walk. The event honors the memory of Elyria police officer James Kerstetter, who was shot and killed in the line of duty in 2010.
  4. Enjoy an evening of refreshments and music at Caribou Coffee in Avon Commons as it hosts a performance in its at 7 p.m. Thursday. Callie Shea Sullivan is this week's performer.
  5. Want more music? Head over to the third annual from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. There will be live music and raffles. Proceeds benefit The Louise Taw Scholarship Fund for Drummers.
