- Because of Monday's Fourth of July holiday, this week's work session of will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at .
- A special meeting of the will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall. A public hearing will be held on two auto dealerships wanting to build in Avon. Check Avon Patch on Tuesday for a story on the planned dealerships.
- Work off some of that Fourth of July potato salad and participate in the on Saturday in Elyria. There is a 5K run and a one-mile family walk. The event honors the memory of Elyria police officer James Kerstetter, who was shot and killed in the line of duty in 2010.
- Enjoy an evening of refreshments and music at Caribou Coffee in Avon Commons as it hosts a performance in its at 7 p.m. Thursday. Callie Shea Sullivan is this week's performer.
- Want more music? Head over to the third annual from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. There will be live music and raffles. Proceeds benefit The Louise Taw Scholarship Fund for Drummers.
