Keep Your Water On: Register Your Sprinkler Systems
Did you know failure to register could result in your water being turned off?
Avon Lake: The land of lush lawns and impeccably maintained flower beds. Many of those are courtesy of in-ground sprinkling systems. And with warm weather upon us, it’s time to turn our focus to lawn care and compliance.
Homeowners with in-ground sprinkling systems must have backflow prevention devices tested and copies of the test results filed at s by May 25, 2012. It’s not a sexy topic, but failure to comply can result in your water being shut off and a standard turn-on fee applied.
Avon Lake Municipal Utilities can email you a list of certified testers or you can pick one up at the office between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays.

The amnesty period for property owners who have not registered their in-ground systems is April 1 to May 1. To avoid a fine during amnesty, stop by the Municipal Utilities Office at 201 Miller Rd. and fill out a form or register by phone.
