Romney in Avon Lake: Gallery

Were you there? Add your photos.

Editor's note: Due to coverage Avon-Avon Lake Patch delayed publication of our photo gallery of Mitt Romney's campaign stop in Avon Lake.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's stop at Avon Lake High School Oct. 29 came with all the bells and whistles. It included plenty of local politicians, a former Cleveland Brown, the Ohio Lt. Governor, a state senator and plenty of sign carrying supporters.

Avon Lake council members Dan Bucci and Jennifer Fenderbosch addressed the crowd, as did Sen. Rob Portman, candidates A.J. Torres, Nan Baker and Jim Renacci, Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor and former Cleveland Brown Gary Baxter.

Avon Lake High School's Chorale, under the direction of Bill Zurkey, sang the National Anthem before Romney took the stage and energized the crowd, some of whom waited for hours on a cold, rainy day.

Avon-Avon Lake Patch live tweeted from the event.

I still don't understand why a campaign event was allowed to happen during school hours and interrupt the school day.

Would you feel the same way if Obama or Biden spoke? It had to be pretty exciting for the kids. Being at such an event in the center of such an election. You don't think this will raise their awareness about the election cycle?

Yes, I would have felt the same if it was a campaign stop for Obama. We do not allow our teachers to convey their support for one candidate or another, yet the whole school can become part of a "Victory Rally" for one candidate? Are our children living in a bubble that they need "awareness" of this election? Have they not heard nor seen advertisements in every fashion available? I thought that the candidates night the school held was to convey awareness? Instead our children either sat through a campaign rally or sat in the PAC watching movies for 3 hours. Lots of fair election coverage there.

I only wish a campaign event like this would be held at one of my kids schools... It's a tremendous learning experience, and what an opportunity to see the current president or the future president, in Mitt Romney... Do you think Obama is a good guy and a straight shooter? Read on, please:
Obama has been an economic disaster the last four years, and this Benghazi disgrace is completely unacceptable... This country does not reward failure and dishonesty out of the White House... http://www.factcheck.org/2012/06/obamas-outsourcer-overreach/ http://obamalies.net/list-of-obamas-failures http://blog.heritage.org/2012/10/18/president-obamas-taxpayer-backed-green-energy-failures/ http://lacrossetribune.com/news/opinion/patti-schmidt-list-of-obama-s-failures-is-long/article_7a139146-fec2-11e1-8e81-0019bb2963f4.html http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2012/08/obamas-foreign-policy-failures-catalogued.php http://www.facebook.com/notes/republican-security-council/the-top-10-obama-flip-flops-by-ari-fleischer/171275079638338 http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/nilegardiner/100083104/the-u-turn-president-barack-obama-top-ten-flip-flops/ Romney/Ryan 2012
