Special Election 2012: Avon Issues and Ballot Language

It’s Special Election Day and all Avon voters have the opportunity to vote on four Issues, Tuesday, Aug. 7. Below is the ballot language for each issue, plus a link explaining each item.

A Majority Affirmative Vote Is Necessary For Passage.

A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Avon City for the purpose of FIRE PROTECTION at a rate not exceeding 0.5 mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.05 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.

A renewal of a tax for the benefit of Avon City for the purpose of PROVIDING AND MAINTAINING MOTOR VEHICLES, COMMUNICATIONS AND OTHER EQUIPMENT USED DIRECTLY IN THE OPERATIONS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF AVON at a rate not exceeding 0.5 mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.05 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.
