Trash Pickup Will Resume on Tuesday, April 2
Strikers prevented trash pickup on Monday, April 1. The regular schedule will resume next week.
Trash pickup will resume Tuesday, April 2.
Dave Kidder at Republic Services said he anticipates all trash, including trash scheduled for today, will be picked up on April 2, with normal Monday service resuming next week. Countywide, trash will be on a one-day pickup delay through Saturday.
Avon and Avon Lake and all of Lorain County's Republic Waste customers did not have their trash picked up Monday, April 1 because of a strike. Republic's area marketing manager, Dave Kidder, said workers went out on strike as on midnight Monday, April 1 that affected all of Lorain County and parts of Illinois.
