Victoria Jackson, "Joe the Plumber" Scheduled for Saturday's Tea Party Express

A full slate of speakers and entertainers, including Victoria Jackson of Saturday Night Live, “Joe the Plumber” and Mrs. Ohio, are expected at the  Saturday, Sept. 3 at the All Pro Freight Stadium, 2009 Baseball Blvd., in Avon.

The event begins with a pre-show at 4 p.m.; the Tea Party Express buses are scheduled to arrive at 5 p.m.

The event marks the Express’s only stop in Ohio. The rally has been winding east after starting Aug. 27 in Napa, Calif. The Express is scheduled to end Sept. 12 in Tampa with a CNN/Tea Party Express Debate.

Paul Schiffer, radio talk show host and author of the Schiffer Report, will be the master of ceremonies of the pre-show program, organized by local Patriot groups. Speakers are scheduled to include:

  • Randy Schmidt, Ohio's Disabled Veteran of the Year
  • Melanie Miller, Mrs. Ohio, who will sing the National Anthem
  • Tom Zawistoski, president of the Ohio Liberty Council
  • Joe "the Plumber" Wurzelbacher
  • Apostle Claver, speaker who calls upon minorities to examine their values and "vote that way"
  • Paulette Penzvalto, opera singer and former Miss Greater Cleveland, who will sing America the Beautiful
