Avon, Avon Lake Police Help Prepare JVS Students

Law enforcement students have opportunity to sit in mock interviews with law enforcement personnel.

Business and industry partnerships are important to Lorain County JVS and help provide many authentic learning experiences for students to prepare them for the world of work.

Case in point; representatives from seven law enforcement and security agencies recently volunteered their time to work with JVS Law Enforcement students, conducting mock job interviews with students.

Avon Lake’s Lt. Sean Bockelman and an Avon officer were two of the representatives.

Each student prepared a resume and reference page and talked with the “employers” about potential career opportunities.  The representatives gave the students some valuable information and great interviewing tips and feedback.

Representatives were also available from Lorain County Community College Police Academy, Avon Lake Police Department, Avon Police Department, Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, North Ridgeville Police Department, Oberlin Police Department and Whittguard Security.
