Avon High National Honor Society Inducts New Members

Organization recognizes outstanding students

Somewhere, Steve Kovach is beaming with pride.

Thursday night, his son, Andrew, was on of 47 students inducted into the chapter of the National Honor Society.

Steve  of a massive heart attack. But Andrew and his family felt his presence at the ceremony in the high school auditorium.

"I was thinking how proud he'd be, like he always was of his kids," said Andrew's mom, Sheryl.

She was also thinking of the little things.

"It's the everyday things we miss," she said. "I know we'd be talking this over on the way home."

Members of the National Honor Society spoke of the four aspects of the organization: scholarship, leadership, service and character.
