'Battle of the Bands' is Jan. 14

One of the country's most musically gifted communities keeps the music playing

Put a little music in your life this weekend. The Avon Lake High School Class of 2015 is hosting a “Battle of the Bands” on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. 

Five bands, each having at least one Avon Lake High School student, will compete for top honors. Avon Lake’s is donating an album cover to the first-place band.

These bands will be performing classic rock, jazz, pop, punk, reggae and blues.

The night will feature many side acts of individual talents also. The event tickets are $5 pre-sale (sold at Avon Lake High School during lunch periods) or $7 at the door. A 50/50 raffle will also take place the evening of the event.

  • Youth Never Dies: Callie Sullivan, Jim Scully, Connor Peterson, Craig Mackson and Nick Reinmann
  • Melick Band: Brian Webner, Tyler McComack and Michael Melick
  • Shred Rot: Scott Drazdik, Matt Miller and Nick Reinmann
  • Barbie Shop Quartet: Carly Mathewson, Meryl Juergens, Paige Higgins and Dora Lukacevic
