Bello, Filippi named to Magnificat Board of Directors

Avon Lake residents have daughters at the Rocky River school.

Magnificat High School appointed four new members this week to its Board of Directors. Two, John Bello and Daniel Filippi, are Avon Lake residents.

Bello currently holds the title of Senior Institutional Consultant, Senior Vice President at Graystone Consulting. Prior to that he was Senior Vice President-Investments and Institutional Consultant for the Bello Group. He is also a former member of the Institutional Consulting Team at UBS Financial Services, Inc.  Bello has a B.S. in Finance from Kent State University, and has attended the Wharton/Securities Industry Association Management Leadership Institute. He and his wife, Mary, live in Avon Lake. Daughter Caroline is a junior at Magnificat, while daughters  Alexandra and Victoria graduated in ’08 and ’10 respectively.

Filippi is the Director, Business Development for RR Donnelley. Prior to that he was Vice President, Sales at Bowne of Cleveland. Mr. Filippi is active in St. Joseph Parish in Avon Lake, coaches CYO sports and is the former Magnificat Fathers’ Club President. He is a graduate of St. Edward High School and John Carroll University. He and his wife, Peg, reside in Avon Lake. Daughters Elizabeth and Rachel graduated from Magnificat in 2008 and 2010, respectively.

 “Magnificat is blessed to have four new leaders of such note in their individual fields,” Sister Carol Anne Smith, H.M., President of Magnificat High School, says. “We look forward to their insight and energy as we continue moving forward with exciting new academic and formation initiatives.”

Also named to the board were Ambassador Heather M. Hodges, a 1964 graduate of Magnificat and former ambassador to Ecuador and Moldova and Gary Miller, former controller for Bonne Bell.

Magnificat High School, in Rocky River, is an all-girls Catholic, college-preparatory high school.
