Two school levies up for March 6 vote

Avon has two school issues to vote on in the March 6 primary election.

The $32-million bond issue to build a new middle school is one, and a renewal operating levy is the other.

The middle school bond issue is for $32 million over 32 years, at 2.25 mills. It would cost a homeowner an additional $38.29 per year for every $100,000 in home valuation.

The renewal levy is two levies combined into one. The levy will be for $2.5 million at 3.21 mills, for 10 years. There would be no additional cost to homeowners.
