The fifth annual joint concert will raise money for schools' scholarship fund.

It just wouldn’t be the holiday season without the Cleveland Pops Orchestra coming to Avon Lake.

Brock said he expects about 700 people to attend the concert, which will also raise money for the scholarship fund at Avon and Avon Lake high schools.

The Pops will be under the direction of Carl Topilow, its founder, who’s guest-conducted more than 90 orchestras around the word.

A spokesperson for the Pops could not be reached for comment.

The event has become a staple fundraiser for both Avon and Avon Lake high schools since its launch five years ago.

Brock said the Ross Center at ALHS is the perfect venue for this event.

“The acoustics in there are just astounding,” Brock said. “It’s a beautiful facility.”

Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for children 13 and under, and can be purchased at ALHS, , , or from Rotary members.

For those who don’t purchase their tickets in advance, Brock said there are usually tickets available at the door.
