Prom Season Under Way, Show Us Your Pics

Sequins and Gunne Sax...show us your pics

It’s Prom Time! s prom (theme: Some Enchanted Evening) will be held May 19 this year at the Cleveland Browns Stadium followed by After Prom at Dave & Busters until 4 a.m. Cost to attend this year's prom is $65 each. How does this rank nationally? Looking around the Internet shows a significant range of ticket prices from $20 (Booker High School, Sarasota, Fl) up to $80 per couple.

It’s a far cry from the proms of the 1950s and 60s when proms were often held at the high school gym. Of course, the get-ups were a little different back then to.

We’re asking students and parents to share their prom photos and theme from this year and years gone by. Do you remember your prom theme? Tell us in comments.

It’s quick and easy. Click the "Upload Photos & Video" button in this post. You can share as many pictures as you want, and give them all kinds of great captions. The more the better.

This doesn't just go for parents, this applies to you crazy kids too. Show off your beautiful dresses and fancy tuxedos. Top hats? We'll take 'em. Mermaid-colored dresses? Yup.

Share this story with your friends on Facebook, and let the uploading begin!

My 2004 prom (both the dinner and dancing) were held at a banquet facility with the after prom at the high school. Our ticket price was about the same as Avon Lake's this year. At my prom nearly every girl had on long gowns (almost no short dresses). Seems like today the cost of the prom dress has gotten out of control. I think it's crazy that many wedding dress shops are now selling prom dresses at what seem like wedding dress prices! What happened to just buying the dress at a department store? I attended every dance my school held in high school (homecoming, snow ball, spring fling, and then finally prom) and my gowns were always well under $100, excpet for prom when I spent closer to $175. The fact that I've been seeing dresses for sale for upwards of $500 is crazy! But all that aside I hope the kids have fun and make smart decisions.

Andrea, let's see a pic. I'll share one of mine from 1981.

I'll see what I can do...that involves pulling it out of an album and finding a scanner lol. I had a pretty black and white sleeveless dress.

Take a picture of the picture with your phone if you can and then email it.

Andrea - that's awesome you sent that picture - It's nice when women aren't embarrassed by being lesbians. Very nice picture! Thanks for sharing!
