Susan Harrison Resigns as Board of Education President

Avon Board of Education president Susan Harrison has resigned, superintendent Jim Reitenbach announced Monday morning.

In a statement, Reitenbach said that Harrison submitted her resignation, effective immediately, on Friday. She and her family are moving back to their home state of Oklahoma.

Harrison served on the school board for 10 years, the last two as president.

"We appreciate Susan's 10 years of service to the district," Reitenbach said. "A lot of excellent things have happened in the district in those years, and she was a major contributor to them. She'll be missed."

Board member Kevin Romanchok is the acting president. He announced Monday that the board is seeking a replacement to fill Harrison's position.
