Lady Gaga's 'Born this Way' Set Up to Fail

This is my review on the long-awaited Gaga CD... agree or disagree?

It's finally here. The much-anticipated sophomore album of international superstar Lady Gaga. Born this Way, which was released at midnight May 23, has been hyped for so long that everyone, including myself, had really high standards.

When Gaga and her production crew came forward saying that this is the best album of all time, it got all of our hopes up. Unfortunately, the album just doesn't cut it for me, and I am a huge Gaga fan (a little monster, if you will)!

The CD is a spastic mess of songs. Some CD's take you on a journey. Other CD's follow a specific format and have songs follow a certain style and genre. Born this Way is just a self-indulgent Gaga doing whatever she wants for the simple reason that she can.

While I do admire that she is a very diverse musician and entertainer, a CD that is this random is just confusing to the listener.

Does this matter? No. Her "little monsters" are so loyal to her, that her album will instantly go number one all over the world. At the end of the day, that is what matters. It doesn't matter if the music is good. Its all about the money.

It is a shame that people were expecting something amazing and she produced something very mediocre. If you are on a treadmill, most of these songs would be great to run to. If you are home alone and want to dance around like a fool (or am I the only one who does that?), you will enjoy dancing to your heart's content. As far as great "sing-along" songs, this album is very lacking and for this reason, I can't see the album producing many radio singles without cuts being made to the track.

If you are a Gaga fan or want to listen to some good tunes, purchase the album and enjoy songs like the title track Born this Way, Edge of Glory, Hair, Marry the Night and my favorite, You and I (which strangely enough has no dance beat, and sounds a little country).

Overall, I give this album 2.5 out of 5 stars. Sorry Gaga, better luck next time (and we know there will be a next time). Keep up your amazing live performances, as they always sound better than your studio mixes anyway.
