Andrew Davis, Kelyn Schellenberg Play for Winning East All-Stars

East beats West, 4-2, in Frontier League All-Star Game at All Pro Freight Stadium

The East Division, which includes the Lake Erie Crushers, beat the West Division, 4-2, in Wednesday's Frontier League All-Star Game at .

Matt Brown, a former Cleveland Indians farmhand, got the East going with a leadoff double in the first inning. Mike Torres singled him to third. Torres then stole second and both scored on game MVP Erik Lis' triple.

Ten East pitchers combined to pitch a two-hitter. Both hits were home runs, a two-out shot in the fourth by Steve Alexander of the Normal CornBelters and a leadoff blast by Will Block of the Southern Illinois Miners in the fifth.

reliever Kelyn Schellenberg worked one scoreless inning. 

The Crushers' Andrew Davis started at third base and said he was disappointed to go 0-for-3 in front of the home fans.

"A beautiful night, a big crowd and my team won," Davis said. "It would have been a lot better if I got a hit, but that's OK. Tonight was about having fun and I think we put on a show."
