Avon Varsity Baseball Wins WSC Championship
Victory of Firelands gives the Eagles their first baseball title.
For the first time in school history, the varsity baseball team has won the West Shore Conference championship.
The Eagles clinched the title in convincing fashion, defeating Firelands, 10-0. The win improved Avon's overall season record to 16-1 and the team remains undefeated in conference play.
While the weather was cool and overcast at Monday evening, the Eagles' bats, pitching and defense remained hot.

An outstanding shutout pitching performance by junior Anders Mahon kept Firelands batters off-balance all evening. Junior Ryan Rogers highlighted the offensive show by hammering a long three-run homer over the right field fence.
