Eagles Down Firelands in Girls Basketball

Sophomores Smith and Neumann each score 8 points in victory.

The girls basketball team beat Firelands, 37-22, at home on Senior Day Saturday afternoon.

Sophomores Brianna Smith and Kaitlin Neumann each scored 8 points to lead the Eagles (14-5, 11-2 in the West Shore Conference).

Fireland's (8-10, 5-7 WSC) Megan Kudela led her team and all scorers with 12 points.

Avon's defense held the Falcons to seven points or less in each quarter.

The Eagles' next play at Bay on Wednesday, Feb. 16, in their conferece finale.
