Get Tickets in Advance for Avon High Football Playoff Game

Tickets on sale at high school athletic office starting Wednesday

Advance tickets for the football team's OHSAA Division II Region 6 championship game on Friday go on sale Wednesday morning at the high school athletic office.

The Eagles (10-1) will play seventh-seeded Tiffin Columbian (9-2) at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Don Paul Stadium in Fremont, the site of last week's game.

Tickets will be sold between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, and from 8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday. After that, you have to buy at the stadium.

Advance tickets are $7 (with $1.20 from each advance ticket sold going to Avon High School). Tickets at the gate are $9. No passes are accepted.

The stadium is about three blocks from Fremont Ross High School. The high school athletic office advised Tuesday to get there early, as Tiffin Columbian has a shorter drive and, if they fill up their side of the bleachers, may be moving into the Avon side. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.

According to the Mapquest directions, from the intersection of Detroit and Center Roads, the trip is 65.47 miles and will take one hour, four minutes. If you're taking the Ohio Turnpike, tolls from the 90/80 merge just past Elyria to the state route 53 exit in Fremont start at $2.25 with EZ-Pass and $3.25 without EZ-Pass.

As you know if you went to last week's game, parking is limited at the stadium. There will be 200 spots available at Stamm Elementary School (1038 Miller St.) and it costs $3 to park there. The Stamm Elementary School parking is right behind the visitors' seating at the stadium. There is free parking available at the high school for those who don't mind walking.

The athletic office added that residents on nearby side streets may be offering pay parking, but you do so at your own risk.

Don't forget to bring your winter coat and money for hot chocolate. The forecast calls for temperatures to be falling through the low 40s around kickoff.
