Infinity Cheerleaders Take 1st at National Championships

Center will relocate to old movie theater in May.

Avon Lake’s Junior 2 team “Integrity” placed 1st to receive the National Champions title at The JamFest Cheerleading Competition in Pittsburgh, March 24-25. The team competes through Infinity Athletics, which will be moving from its Pin Oak Parkway location into the old Avon Lake movie theater in May.

The team is made up of 19 girls from Avon Lake, Avon, Westlake, Cleveland , Amherst, and Vermilion.

“Competition was a two-day event at Jamfest Nationals,” Infinity Athletics owner Robin Ewest said.

The girls received both a national champion banner and trophy as well as a national champion jacket.

Although the gym is fairly new, it’s made notable strides recently.

Infinity’s Senior 3 team “Unity” will compete in Indianapolis, after winning a full paid bid to the US finals.

“All of our athletes work very hard,” Ewest said. “We as their coaches are extremely proud of them everyday and all of their accomplishments”

Competitive cheerleading is a combination of high-energy dance, tumbling and stunting.  Infinity trains girls throughout Northeast Ohio. Athletes typically train 3 to 4 days a week.
