Paul Fagan's Complete-Game Shutout Leads Crushers to Fourth Straight Win

Crushers still hold slim lead for playoff spot

For the second night in a row, the got a complete-game shutout from their starting pitcher. And, for the second night in a row, they won, 4-0.

Saturday's win over the Rockford RiverHawks in front of a crowd of 3,124 at All Pro Freight Stadium was the fourth win in a row for the Crushers (47-41).

The Crushers also held onto their half-game lead over the Traverse City Beach Bums for the second and final playoff spot in the Frontier League's Eastern Division. Traverse City defeated the Windy City Thunderbolts, 3-1, Saturday.

Jereme Milons scored on an RBI single by Andrew Davis in the bottom of the first to give the Crushers an early 1-0 lead, the team reported. Patrick Norris homered in the second, then drove in Jason Taylor on a groundout in the fourth. Brian Erie walked with the bases loaded in the eighth for the Crushers' final run.

The Crushers and RiverHawks play the final game of the series at 5:05 p.m. Sunday. Thomas Campbell (4-2, 2.66 earned run average) is scheduled to start for the Crushers.
