Shoremen Overcome Lackluster First Half to Top Demons

Shoremen get 20th straight win over the Demons.

Trailing by three due a lackluster first half performance, the came out smoking after the intermission, launching a deadly passing attack that must have left Westlake wondering if it was really a good idea to line up their safeties two yards off the ball. 

Like Midpark two weeks ago, the Demons stacked the line with eight and nine men in the box, daring the Shoremen to throw. 

Chris Jedlicka made them pay in a big way, completing nine of 13 passes for 236 yards. Jimmy Hessel caught five balls including a 46-yard TD pass and a couple of 43-yarders to set up Collin Lucas touchdown runs.

The Maroon and Gold “D” played well, giving up one big play of 68 yards for Westlake’s only touchdown. The defense was dominant in the last two quarters, capping a scoreless half with a nice goal line stand midway through the fourth period to seal the victory. It was Coach Dlugosz’ 20th straight win over the Demons, who have not beaten the Shoremen since he took the helm in 1992...
