Two AHS Athletes Earn Leadership Summit Awards

Two Avon High School athletes were honored recently at the Sept. 17 Avon Leadership Summit Awards held at the Avon VFW.

Fall athletes Kaitln Neumann and Austin Beavins were honored for going “above and beyond in leading their team in strength and support”.

Neumann, a leader on the girls golf team was acknowledged for by not only taking control on the course, but while giving confidence to her teammates and being an outstanding student. She was presented her award by Coach Frank DeSmit.

Beavins, who plays football for the Eagles, was honored by football coach Mike Elder. Although Beavins was recently injured, he remains captain of the football team and an inspiration to his fellow teammates. Austin stood out because he has a goal and a focus in his life and that is a great characteristic he shows his teammates.

Avon Leadership Summit Awards will be held at the Avon VFW post 7035 every Monday at 8:30 p.m.to acknowledge fall sport athletes. This event is open to the public.
