Avon Dog Earns 1st Place at Annual Dachshund Picnic

Dachshund lovers came to Kent from as far away as Florida on Saturday.

About 400 dog owners gathered at for the 15th Annual Northeast Ohio Dachshund Picnic Saturday in Kent, including one dog who made the trip from Avon and was part of a first-place winning entry for best costume.

Awards were given for longest dog (37 inches), oldest dog (18 years) and best costume in four divisions.
