2 Tons of Food Help March Away Hunger: Letter

23 organizations participate in food drive.

A very special thank you to our community for their support in the recent March Away Hunger food drive, benefiting .

This drive was truly a community effort with the 23 Avon Lake Community Council organizations, s, Avon Lake City, Safety and Utilities employees, along with First Federal of Lakewood, and coming together to assist families in need in Avon Lake. This month long food drive in March collected 4,158 pounds of food valued at $6,663.

With food assistance requests up 29 percent this past year, a major food drive is just what CRS needed to stock their pantry going into the summer months. Thank you again, Avon Lake, for all your donations to March Away Hunger.
