Although a bit on the brisk side, more than 250 runners signed up to compete in Love-A-Stray's Fur Fun 5K and another 100 walkers opted for a 1,2 or 3-mile walk starting from Towne Center, according to event organizer Andrea Scheetz.
Runners and walkers weren't limited to just the two-legged variety. Plenty of dog owners brought along their four-legged friends to join in the April 29 event, which included raffles, a visit by and plenty of dog-related vendors.
"Rescue Row," a first for a Love-A-Stray event, featured adoptable dogs from nine separate agencies.
Love-A-Stray is a no-kill dog and cat placement organization that benefits both in Avon and Avon Lake.
