Avon Lake Junior Shoremen Football League Gets New Shed

League has 75 players in it

Thanks to local businesses and families, the Avon Lake Junior Shoremen Football League has received a new storage facility at .

one of the league’s coaches, organized a fund raiser and solicited suppliers of materials to get the project off the ground.

The shed is located near the school’s baseball fields.

“Everyone involved was quick to make this project happen for the kids,” Gallagher said. 

Gallagher credited Eastview principal Michael Matthews, Avon Lake School District Superintendent Bob Scott and Director of Operations Greg Ludwig and the city’s building and zoning departments with cooperating in helping complete the project.

Businesses and individuals that contributed include Dave Kendera of , , Kyle Robinson of Allside Building Materials and Bill Gallagher of Commercial Interior Construction Services. 

Gallagher also credited the support of families who attended a night at the races fundraiser at the in July. 

The Avon Lake Junior Shoremen Football League, founded by Jay Marcie, now has 75 third and fourth-grade children and 15 volunteer coaches participating in the program.
