Caribou Event Raises Money to Fight Cystic Fibrosis

Fundraiser is labor of love for Caribou manager Shannon Masters

A fundraiser at in Avon Commons on Saturday raised more than $1,500 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Twenty percent of sales that afternoon and evening were donated, along with proceeds from basket raffles and a 50-50 raffle. There was also music, a Plinko game, and jewelry sales.

Caribou Coffee manager Shannon Masters said the company allows individual shops to do benefit events like this, and she chose to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation this time because her childhood friend, Ally Thadeus-Zappe of Fairview Park, has the condition. Ally, 31, has had a double lung transplant.
