Love-A-Stray Cat Emmy is a Rare Girl

Emmy is what is called a Hemingway Cat

Looking for an uncommon cat? Emmy is the girl for you!

Emmy is a polydactyl cat, meaning she has extra toes on her paws. Polydactyls are commonly known as Hemingway Cats, because of writer Ernest Hemingway's fondness for his polydactyl cat, Snowball, given to him by a ship's captain.

In addition to being a Hemingway Cat, Emmy appears to also be part Snowshoe Siamese, mixed with tabby and possibly calico, said Love-A-Stray volunteer Marge Spaeth. Emmy's beautiful blue eyes and creamy fur are what point to Snowshoe Siamese, which is a rare breed of cat.

Emmy is three years old, and was given up along with another cat when her owner had to move. She is very sweet and friendly.

Like all Love-A-Stray cats available for adoption, Emmy is fixed and up-to-date on her shots. If you're interested in Emmy, or would like to see other cats and kittens available for adoption, contact Love-A-Stray at loveastray@gmail.com. You can also donate money to help cover the costs of spaying/neutering cats, food, litter and health care.
