Volunteers Sign Up For Pride Day

Avon Lake residents and businesses traditionally puts more than 100 volunteers on the ground for Lorain County Pride Day, and this year is no exception. This year, Pride Day, when volunteers take on projects to spruce up parks and community sites. Here’s a list of who’s signed up this year. Are you helping out? Send an email with you or your organizaiton’s name and project to Lori.Switaj@patch.com and we’ll add it to the list.

• Volunteers will provide cleanup for four senior citizens.
• The Avon Lake Garden Club, on various days, will take care of Beach Park at York and Electric, the herb garden at Peter Miller House and the gazebo at Miller Road Park.

• The Girl Scouts will plant flowers a the Old Firehouse and help out in the and Belle Park area.
• Open Door Church will help at the Community Garden and senior cleanup.

• The Landmark Preservation Society and Girl Scouts will landscape and cleanup the Folger Home.
• Kids in the Community helped clean up ALPS (Avon Lake Play Space) and Bleser Field on May 8.
• Boy Scout Troop 334 assisted with the Community Garden May 12.
• The will clean up and make repairs to the boat club and beach area at the club.
• The Avon Lake Garden Club will plant flowers at the wildflower garden at Miller Road Park.

• The Environmental Affairs Advisory Board will work at Russ Lynch Bicentennial Park and the beach.
