The Avon Women’s Club Annual Meeting  

Members of the Avon Women's Club will meet for their annual pizza / salad dinner on Monday, Sept. 9th at 6 p.m. to mark the beginning of the club's 65th year in existence.  Officers for the 2013-14 club year are Judy Szabo -president, Marge Spatafore - Vice President, Dorrie Bommer -secretary, Deb Porterfield - treasurer.

Avon Lake Early Childhood PTA Beginning of the Year Kick-Off

Do you have a child 6 or younger?  If so, come to the ALECPTA’s first meeting of the year and see why you should join 200 other Avon Lake families as we share the joys (and challenges) of parenting babies and preschoolers. Register on-line at www.alecpta.com and start taking advantage of what the group has to offer.

The first meeting will take place on Monday, Sept.  9, 7-8:30 p.m. at the Avon Lake Public Library.  In person registrations will take place from 6:30 p.m.-7:15 p.m.  

ALHS Class of 2003 10-year reunion

Come celebrate the 10 year reunion of the class of 2003 on Saturday, Sept. 14. Tickets MUST be purchased in advance. $35/person covers buffet, unlimited video games and $10 in game tokens. Click here for ticket information.

Your Brain at Westshore

Head over to Westlake for a “Year of the Brain Interactive Event” on Wednesday, Sept. 11. This will be the first event for the “Year of the Brain” evening activities at the Tri-C Westshore Campus. “Your Brain @ Westshore” will be an interactive hour and a half, full of fun-filled activities for your brain, including a game table with puzzles and MENSA games, visual perception activity, EEGs, actual brains on display, and a variety of books. Free and open to the public.

Infinity Athletics Boosters First Annual Chicken BBQ and Pie Eating Contest

Pie-eating contests, dunk tanks and Midtown Band are part of the activities for this non-profit’s afternoon of fun. On Sunday, Sept. 15. Click on the link for all the details.
