Veterans Memorial Park - Avon Lake
440-930-4130
Veterans Memorial Park sits on 4.5 acres of lakefront property on Lake Road. The park is home to two buildings: The historic Thomas Folger Home and the more recently acquired Lake House. Both buildings are available for rent for special occasions. Alcohol is not permitted in either building.
The park features a swingset, picnic tables with a spectacular view of Lake Erie, restrooms, grills, a water fountain and access to the beach (via staircase). The park also features a genuine Howitzer.
Veterans Park is most active in the summer when visitors can walk along the boardwalk, picnic and swim in the lake. It features one of two public beaches in Avon Lake and lifeguards are staffed, weather permitting from 1pm to 6pm from June through Labor Day. The Avon Lake Boat Club, that provides storage and lake access to small boats, is in the park just west of the Folger Home.
