Hello - this article starts with saying how national news affects our community. If that were theRead More case, why is there not one example of how our community is doing or feeling because of the shutdown? This article has very shoddy research in its presentation. For one thing, the jobs report just release showed there was an uptick in employment in the private sector, proving less big giver kent was a good thing. Also, it had been reported that most Anericans weren't personally affected and so didn't care about it. As for the parks issue, that was purely a result of Obama's choosing to "inflict as much pain as possible on Americans." He personally chose the parks to be affected for his great idea to try to harm the Republican Party. Finally, as for furloughed workers, they just got a free vacation, INCLUDING OUR BRAINLESS SENATOR SHERROD BROWN. (For those of us who saw his lame website excuses.) The bottom line is that the shutdown, however awkward a method, happened because Republicans were trying to draw attention to a very serious problem that Obama and all the a Democrats refused to acknowledge - Obamacare. And it turns out Republicans were 100% right. Democrats refused to heed the warnings and vote for the suggestions Republucans presented to improve /lessen the harm of Obamacare. This article proves the laziness of reporters and media.

Have you read the four agreements? Prior to expressing one's self first ask "is thisRead More necessary".

These conservatives' motivations are very suspect, they see "sin" behind every aspect ofRead More American life; while not looking at their own lives. Let Americans live their lives unabated by the constant oversight of these self-serving, witch hunting, sex starved morons. It's none of their concern who loves whom or what one does for recreation. Conservatives, get a life and leave everyone else alone.

Say anything to get the rubes to keep sending donations. The Girl Scouts should sue him. He probablyRead More also owns a cookie factory. No way this creep isn't doing this for money. Period.

There is nothing wrong with Mr. Ward sending his children to a faith based school. My only issueRead More with it is that Mr. Ward cannot possibly have the same connection/communication with the schools as the other 3 candidates. Mr. Jensen and Zegarac's children have all attended Avon schools and Mr. Summer's son is also early in the school system. These 3 candidates know teacher, principals, students, and parents. Mr. Ward doesn't have that same connection. Anyone can sit down with the Administration but you can't have that connection if you have nothing in common. We have very good schools and you can't promote that if you have not experienced that within your family. I have also heard the "rumors" about Mr. Ward promising jobs. I have heard it goes beyond just giving 1 council member a job... I believe some of his friendly republicans are being promised jobs in the city. Leaving some of the current city workers without jobs. These current employees would not be losing their jobs over something they did wrong or not being qualified, it would simply be because they are not part of Mr. Ward's backing Republican Party. I hope that this information is not true and just a rumor.. but I don't see the election working in Mr. Wards favor anyhow from the residents I've spoken to in my development. Good luck to all the candidates.

Kinda scares me that people are talking about Avon schools as if City council members have anythingRead More to do with the schools.

Hey Kevin Ward, maybe think twice the next time you decide to make deals and get rid of 19 city jobsRead More to put in your own friends and cronies. Looks like your plan failed.
