Parents ruin sports..

Alan I agree. Parents coach to get their kids and kids friends a leg up. Kids are choosen too basedRead More on parents and kids being friends. Take AAU and All-Stars and positions in each sport. Parents coach because they want their kid in prime positions, kids are friends with certain kids or because a family does not like someone but the kid has talent not playing. You need "out of area" coaches to come and determine if a kid is "that good" to be at the next level not "locals" whom coach because that is the only way the kid will get playing time.

sportsnut: Seems like a perfect opportunity for you to get involved in coaching... If nothingRead More else, becoming a coach will give you a voice in the league to lobby for equal playing time for all kids, and rotation of positions--particularly at the lower levels.

I feel sorry for any homeowner who has the unfortunate situation created when a neighbor's kidRead More practices lacrosse. The pulsating sound of that ball hitting either the net or driveway or sidewalk will drive you nuts! I've lived with that incessant noise for 3 yrs and have kept the AL Police busy with my calls to address that noise. The next step is court. Good Luck Avon.
