Avon Lake, Bay Officials Mull Cell Tower in Walker Road Park

First joint meeting doesn't discount idea of 150-ft. tower in Walker Road Park.

Avon Lake and Bay Village officials met April 20 to discuss a proposed cell tower in Walker Road Park, taking a first—but not necessarily a definite step—in approving the proposed 150-foot tower. The meeting represented the first of what is expected to be several joint meetings between the cities to place an AT&T tower in the park, that is jointly owned by both Avon Lake and Bay Village, but sits entirely in the city of Avon Lake. I hope everyone in Avon Lake works AGAINST this. The park should remain as it is. Switch your cell coverage to Verizon. I spoke yesterday on my bluetooth while driving down Lake Road through Avon Lake and Bay and the call did not drop.   more ›

Unknown Man Tries to Access Store Security

Police keep eye out for him

An employee at the AT&T store on Detroit Road told police on Dec. 29 that a man came into the store claiming to work for the store's security system provider and that he needed to get into the back of the store. He didn't have an ID or work order. The security system company said they sent no one to the store. Police provided extra patrols. Breaking up is hard to do A man requested police assistance on Dec. 29 when he told them his ex-wife was going to burn his possessions still at their home. Police went with him to collect his belongings, and he was able to do so and leave without any problems.
