County coroner awaiting test results
The Lorain County Coroner's Office said Thursday that it could be another week before its investigation into the death of Avon native Alexis Taylor will be completed. Taylor, an 18-year-old Avon High School Class of 2011 graduate, died March 8 in Lorain. An autopsy was performed last week, the Coroner's Office reported. Test results are pending and, until they are in sometime in the next week, no official cause of death can be issued.

Seeing such a young age in an obituary is hard. Avon High Class of 2011 graduate Alexis Taylor died on March 8 at the age of 18. The Lorain County Coroner's Office said Sunday that the cause of death is undetermined. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Busch Funeral Home. A private family service will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Busch Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church. Alexis Taylor, 18, of Avon, died suddenly on March 8 at Mercy Hospital in Lorain. Taylor was a 2011 graduate of Avon High School. She was working for 42nd Street Pizza. An active young woman, Taylor enjoyed exercising, dancing, music, singing and spending time with her nephew, Tyler. Taylor is survived by her father, Derrick Taylor, of Fairview Park; mother Bridget House of Avon; sister Amanda M. Taylor; nephew Tyler; paternal grandparents Bruce Taylor and Diana Wahter; maternal grandparents John House Jr. (Wanda) and Diane House; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
