Buffalo Wild Wings On Wednesday Will Support Vertical High

Area residents will climb 42 floors of Terminal Tower in Fight For Air Climb.

Wednesday, Feb. 20  from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m., attend a fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings in Avon Lake to benefit the American Lung Association. A team of local residents and their friends, who will be participating in the 2013 Fight for Air Climb March 2, have organized the fundraiser as part of their efforts to raise money for this worthwhile cause. Thirty percent of all pre-tax purchases made that day with the fundraiser ticket will go to the American Lung Association.  Fundraiser event vouchers can be obtained from any of the team members or email jodybarilla@gmail.com to receive your fundraiser event voucher.  The Avon Lake Howard Hanna office, located at 32713 Walker Road will distribute BW3 flyers if people want to stop in and get …

Vertical High Raises More Than $8,000 in Climb

Eight climbers raise thousands for American Lung Association

Vertical High, a team of eight men and women with close ties to Avon Lake raised $8,409 between fundraising from a climb up the Terminal Tower and an outing at Buffalo Wild Wings on Walker Road on Feb. 29. “We raised $500 from BW3 sales and another $865 from the raffle that team member, Tom Murphy, put together for our event,” member Jody Barilla said. “(Buffalo Wild Wings) was very generous in that we raised $413.25 from our sales and they donated the difference to round it out to $500.” All eight climbers, Owen Murphy (6:50), Jack Pepper (7:14), Tom Murphy (7:41), Lisa Scheer (7:43), Steve Scheer (7:50), Krystal Kovacik (8:37), Jody Barilla (9:01) and Beth Wood (9:38) made the March 3 climb up 42 flights of stairs in less than 10 minutes…

Residents Will Climb The Terminal Tower, Everyone Else Can Just Eat

Vertical High will climb 42 floors of the Terminal Tower, but locals can help by eating at Buffalo Wild Wings on Feb. 29.

Avon Lake resident Tom Murphy is taking on the 42 floors of the Terminal Tower in the name of a friend suffering from lung disease. He, and other Avon Lake residents will make the trek on March 3 to support the American Lung Association’s (ALA) fundraiser, Fight for Air Climb. On March 3, a group of Avon Lake residents, including Barilla, Murphy, Steve Scheer, Lisa Scheer, former Avon Laker Beth Wood, as well as Krystal Kovacik, and Tom’s son, Owen Murphy, will do their part to fight lung disease by climbing 42 floors of Terminal Tower in support of the ALA's fundraiser.
