Couple chooses once-in-a-lifetime date to tie the knot in Avon Lake.
The happy couple chose a once-in-a-lifetime date for their once-in-a-lifetime event. Nicholas Cherry, 22, of Avon and Kayla Rudolph, 20, of Sheffield Lake, pledged to love, comfort, honor and keep each other on Dec. 12, 2012. Their 12/12/12 wedding in front of Judge Darrel Bilancini started promptly at 12 p.m. at the Avon Lake Municipal Courthouse. While the date has spurned thousand of weddings across the country – it is the last such triple date for almost a century (89 years), until Jan. 1, 2101, it was the only wedding for Bilancini for the day. But it's much more than that. Avon Patch is an online community. Avon Patch has kept residents informed…

So much growing, and so much still to come!
Happy Patchiversary! Six months ago today, as Avonites were decking their halls and doing their holiday prep, Avon Patch was launched. It was a new adventure for me, coming from a career in print. I'd never edited video, hired freelancers, or done some of the other things I've done since joining Patch last year. The adventure has been exciting, challenging and, at times, just plain fun. I've loved getting to know the people of Avon. Thank you so much for making Avon Patch a part of your community. We've covered news like the Nagel Road interchange saga, the coming development in Avon, new businesses launching and the school levy vote. We've also been able to cover charitable efforts, achievements by local kids and some of the fun of living…
