A perfect summer evening drew plenty of visitors by car, bike and foot to Veterans Memorial Park on Lake Road in Avon Lake to enjoy a spectacular Lake Erie sunset June 27. Above, visitors take advantage of one of several groins to get a closer look just after 9:15 p.m. The park features stairs to the beach, benches, picnic tables and boardwalk. At the Folger Home, also within the park, visitors can buy ice cream for under $2.
