James W. Miller, 53, Retired Firefighter

The Avon Lake resident passed away on May 8.

James W. Miller, 53 of Avon Lake, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013. He was born October 5, 1959 in Cheshire, CT. Jim graduated from Rocky River High School in 1977. He was a retired North Olmsted fire fighter and paramedic for 25 years. Jim was a member of the Cleveland Yachting Club. He loved to just relax on his boat, "Miller Time" with his dog Binky. His survivors include his wife, Eva (nee Smith); children, Jenna and Brandon; siblings, William (Ann), Margaret Kunsman (Jim), Vernon L. III (Donna), Mary K. (George Benore), David, Jeanne Thompson (Ken). Shirley Rogers: Obituary

Avon Lake resident Shirley Rogers passed away at 83 last week.

Shirley B. Rogers, 83, of Avon Lake, passed away on March 16. Rogers graduated from Avon Lake High School in 1947 and Bowling Green State University in 1951 with a business degree, according to tributes.com.  Rogers loved her afghan hounds and cats. She also enjoyed playing golf and tennis. Rogers is survived by her sons David and Mark; sister Priscilla Kleir; and brother, Dale Beetler. She was preceded in death by her husband Roger whom she was married to for 49 years; parents Edward and Virginia Butler (Bowman); and brother, Ned Beetler. The visitation will be held at Busch Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow at 8 p.m.

Jeanne Kerns: Obituary

Services are Friday, burial Saturday.

Jeanne Kerns, 89, of Avon Lake, passed away on March 12. Kerns enjoyed playing bridge and loved to cook. Her specialty was beef stroganoff. She was a member of many gourmet clubs and always hosted Thanksgiving dinner for her family and friends, according to buschfuneralhome.com. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert, married for 55 years; loving mother of Robert Jr. and David; devoted grandmother of Matt, Bryan, Jasmine, and Garrett; great-grandmother of Noah David and special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Rosemarie A. Ingoglia, 68, Mother of Four

Rosemarie A. (Rienzo) Ingoglia, 68, of Avon, passed away Feb. 14 at home. Ingoglia was born May 29, 1943, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to  John and Louise (Carfora) Rienzo. She was raised in Glendale, N.Y., and graduated from Our Lady of Wisdom Academy in Ozone Park. After high school, she earned her nursing degree from St. Vincent Hospital Nursing School in New York City. She worked in the compensation management field. Ingoglia was a member of Holy Spirit Parish in Avon Lake. She enjoyed playing golf, dancing, traveling and visiting with family. In addition to her parents, who live in Valley Stream, N.Y., she is survived by Augie Ingoglia, her husband of 48 years. Neil King Sullivan, 71, Retired Ford Scheduler, Fan of Classic and Fast Cars

He belonged to Knights of Columbus and coached T-ball and CYO basketball.

Neil King Sullivan, a retired scheduling supervisor for Ford Motor Co.’s Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake, frequented the Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum in Cleveland, attended numerous car shows and became a fan of Indy Car and Formula One Racing. The Avon Lake resident, who died June 9 at age 71 at St. Mary of the Woods in Avon, belonged to the Southwest Mustang Club. Sullivan, an admirer of Duesenberg and Bugatti automobiles, also liked to visit the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum in Auburn, IN.  The Cleveland native graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1956. He attended John Carroll University. In 1962, Sullivan graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati and began serving with the Army Reserves. He worked for Republic Steel …
