Cameron's Cause Continues To Help With Trip to New Jersey

Avon Lake boy provides relief to pets affected by Superstorm Sandy.

An Avon Lake boy who continued his crusade of helping those with four legs in need, recently completed a trip to New Jersey to deliver supplies to animals in need after Superstorm Sandy passed through. Cameron Hosier, who helped raise funds last year to buy safety supplies for Avon Lake Police's K-9, started another drive in early November to collect supplies for New Jersey pets in need. Cameron filled several large bins with canned food, leashes, bowls and toys, and and several very large bags of blankets and towels. He expressed his thanks to all the people that dropped donations off, Avon Lake Police Chief David Owad for allowing a collection bin at the police station, to the officers for letting him know when they were full, the Avon …

Keeping Ady Safe and Cool: Student Donates K-9 the Goods

Cameron Hosier donates more than $600 in goods to Avon Lake's K-9.

On May 23, Cameron Hosier, his mother Carla, father Scott and sister Kayla joined Officer Jared Rudduck who accepted a box full of items needed to keep the Avon Lake Police K-9, Ady, a little safer. “We really appreciate this,” Rudduck said when presented with the items at the Avon Lake Police Department. “I know Cameron led the charge but it was also a family project.” Cameron, a sixth-grader at Troy Intermediate School, sold Malley’s chocolates and operated a booth at the Love-A-Stray 5K race last month raising more than $300 to buy safety supplies for Ady, who joined the police department earlier this year. “I was watching a show one day about how many K-9s are killed,” Cameron said last month. “I wanted to make sure Ady stays safe.” …
