Carl Lewis Hembly, 96, who lived in Avon most of his life, passed away on Jan. 19, 2013 at The North Ridge Health Center. Carl was born in Detroit on June 21, 1916 and was a North Ridgeville resident at the time of his death. Carl served his country as a member of the US Army Air Corp during WWII, stationed in England. He spent the last 20 years of his career at NASA, Cleveland, as a Journeyman Sheet Metal Model Maker and retired 1979. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Elyria and the David F. Schneider VFW Post 7035, Avon/Avon Lake. In his spare time and through out his retirement he enjoyed golf as well as trips to nearby casinos.
