Avon Lake’s Megan Zurkey has penned an original Christmas song and it has reached the Top 200 on an Indie playlist. The Greatest Gift, written by Zurkey who also co-wrote the music with Patrick Scanlon, was selected for the Top 200 Holiday Playlist on Jango AirPlay. “It is an Indie playlist and I feel honored to have been chosen,” Zurkey, an Avon Lake High School graduate, said. Jon Johnson produced the song. Zurkey said the song is a reminder of why Christmas exists. “I wrote it after being absorbed in ‘holiday’ talk and presents and pressure to find the right gifts,” she said. “Well we can't forget to celebrate the real reason Christmas even exists…it's a birthday.” Zurkey, 24, was featured earlier last year after being named one of …
