Man Who Killed 2003 ALHS Grad Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison

The July 29 crash left two dead and two others injured.

The 35-year-old Lakewood man, who killed two people after driving his vehicle into a crowded street festival while drunk, was sentenced to 15 years in prison Wednesday. Timothy Spock, of Beach Parkway, faced up to 26 years after he pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide; vehicular homicide; and vehicular manslaughter. The July 29 crash at the Dancin’ in the Street event in Cleveland killed 2003 Avon Lake High School graduate Mitchell Andelmo, 27, and Basil Bass of Cleveland, and injured two others. According to the police report, the street on Clifton Boulevard was barricaded at West 117th Street and east of that location because of the Dancin’ in the Street festival. The man who killed these two innocent prople had four (4) previous DUI convictions! It seems to me the judges who let him slide on those should themselves be put on trial to answer WHY they let didn't throw him into jail for the rest of his life. Man Who Plowed Through Street Festival, Killing ALHS Grad, Has Pleaded Guilty

The 35-year-old Lakewood man, who killed two people, including an Avon Lake High School graduate, after driving his vehicle into a crowded street festival while drunk, has pleaded guilty in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. Timothy Spock, of Lakewood, faces up to 26 years in prison at his Dec. 3 scheduled sentencing. The July 29 crash at the Dancin’ in the Street event in Cleveland killed Lakewood resident and 2003 Avon Lake High School graduate Mitchell Andelmo and Basil Bass of Cleveland, and injured two others. Last week, Spock withdrew his not-guilty plea, and pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide; vehicular homicide; and vehicular manslaughter — all second-degree felonies. Avon Lake Grad Killed at Lakewood Area Festival

Mitch Andelmo, class of 2003, died Sunday night.

An Avon Lake High School graduate was killed July 29 after a car crashed through the “Dancin’ in the Street” fair in Cleveland, at the Lakewood border. Mitch Andelmo, class of 2003, died last night, according to MetroHealth Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. Andelmo was at the event, one of Cleveland's largest LGBT fundraisers run by the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland, on Sunday night. NewsNet5.com said a man with three prior drunk driving convictions drove through a street barricade and into the crowd on Clifton Avenue at approximately 7 p.m. between West 116th and West 117th avenues. Andelmo was reportedly with his girlfriend, Constance Pokorny, who was also struck and injured along with three others. …
